Ascension House - a home for travelers
Dear travelers, WELCOME to Ascension House!
A beautiful place off the beaten track of HK's busy city life with the views of Sha Tin District. The guest house is located in beautiful nature 5 minutes from the historic Christ Temple (Chinese renaissance style) and only 10-15 minutes from Hong Kong's efficient MTR system and the huge New Town Plaza selling everything you will ever need. As the guest house is managed by volunteers from Scandinavia a cultural exchange is inevitable! We are open for talks about deep and shallow and are happy to share our home. May it be to you a temporary home away from home. The historyAscension House began to host backpackers in 1986. Traveling requires an adventurous spirit, a willingness to meet the unfamiliar and leave one's comfort zone. It is not only a journey of the body, but also of the soul and spirit. In Ascension House travellers from different countries, holding different beliefs and philosophies, gather for rest, renewal and friendship.
Ascension House is a part of Tao Fong Shan Corporation, originally a centre for dialogue between Christians and Buddhists. Built in the 1930s in the style of a Chinese Buddhist monastery Tao Fong Shan offers a tranquil space virtually unmatched in Hong Kong. Tao Fong Shan (including Ascension House) is a non-profit organization. Prayer LIFE and Christ Temple In Ascension House we live together in a Christian community.
